Residential Care

Empowering Growth and Resilience

Our homes are founded on a model of care centered around positive parenting, fostering relationships of mutual trust within clear, socially appropriate boundaries. Through our Positive Behavior Support Plan methodology, we prioritize person-focused, educational, and proactive approaches, encouraging self-sufficiency and safety.

Complex Trauma Service
At PureNest Care Homes, we guide individuals on transformative paths toward healing and new skills for life. We enhance social, psychological, educational, and welfare skills, facilitating rehabilitation and return to family life. Exposure to mistreatment or trauma can impair fundamental capacities needed for managing relationships and self-regulation. We address both short-term and long-term repercussions, helping children and young adults overcome traumatic events.
Child Abuse
NSPCC defines child abuse as the intentional harm caused to a child by an adult or another child. This harm can occur over time or as a single incident and can manifest as physical, sexual, or emotional abuse. It can occur in person or online and may also include neglect, which is characterized by a lack of love, care, and attention towards the child.
Emotional abuse
Emotional abuse is any type of abuse that involves the continual emotional mistreatment of a child. It's sometimes called psychological abuse. Emotional abuse can involve deliberately trying to scare, humiliate, isolate or ignore a child.
Physical abuse
A parent or carer has a duty to take care of a child's basic needs, which includes providing food, shelter, and clothes, and keeping the child clean and hygienic. A failure to meet these basic needs is physical neglect.
Substance Abuse and Family Risk
Families that suffer from substance abuse are more at risk for domestic violence, mental illness, divorce, and sexual and physical abuse than other families.
Divorce
Divorce creates emotional turmoil for the entire family, but for kids, the situation can be quite scary, confusing, and frustrating.
Domestic Violence
Some children exposed to violence learn to resolve their own conflicts in a violent manner. Others seem to become desensitized to violence and the pain and distress of others. Some retreat into a shell, avoiding people and the world around them.

Smooth Transitions for Long-Term Stability

We’ve developed a transitional care model in partnership with therapeutic professionals, residential staff, and local authorities to ensure smooth transitions for children and young people from residential care to foster care, supported living, or family settings. This model includes wraparound services like health, therapy, and education, aiming for long-term household placement stability, especially for those with a history of multiple breakdowns. Transition arrangements are customized to individual needs and emotional progress, ensuring a smooth process.
